Jennifer + Kitoh ● Central Park Wedding for a reBar Couple
News Articles Featuring Jennifer and Kitoh:
Months ago, when Jennifer first reached out to me, she and Kitoh were planning their May 2015 wedding at the now shuttered reBar (see the full story on that here). When reBar abruptly closed and with a good portion of Jennifer and Kitoh’s wedding savings gone, they were faced with a tough decision with what to do next.
Here’s where I get kind of sappy. I LOVE my couples. Jennifer and Kitoh are a perfect embodiment of how awesome my couples are. Down but certainly not out, they moved their wedding date up a year and chose to have an intimate ceremony at the Ladies Pavilion in Central Park. So, instead of having a full year to plan all the details, within a few short weeks Jennifer and Kitoh arranged a completely different type of wedding day. Jennifer chose a gorgeous Maggie Sottero gown right off the rack. Their closest family and friends present, flowers, rings, and an officiant – the fabulous Cindy Blakis of Happily Ever Blissful – completed the “musts.”
While all this was going on – dealing with the stress of losing thousands of dollars to reBar, planning an alternate wedding, all while keeping up with day-to-day life – Jennifer and Kitoh were attending the hearings and were present when the verdict was handed down to reBar’s bankrupt owner Jason Stevens (up to 10 years in prison!). They were helping to advocate for all the couples who all lost significant sums of money.
During the ceremony, their emotions kept taking over, especially as they each read personal vows to each other. They were simply SO happy to be married, that nothing else mattered. Congratulations Jennifer and Kitoh, your wedding day was beautiful and I was incredibly honored to be a part of it.
