Cristen + Jonathan ● The Park NYC Restaurant Wedding

January 16, 2015

Cristen and Jonathan’s wedding at The Park is the culmination of a musical international love story! In Cristen’s own words…

Cristen was traveling to Ireland from Minnesota to finish the final year of her undergraduate degree in teaching. She chose to travel abroad for her final semester for fun. She was placed in Ireland all on her own. One evening Cristen ventured out and walked into a pub on the Bray sea front and heard Jonathan playing. She thought he was an amazing singer and quite a looker, the feeling was mutual! Spontaneous road trips around Ireland ensued. Disgustingly similar to the movie P.S. I Love You, however we think our version is better. Eventually Cristen, heartbroken, had to move back to the USA to accept her degree and get her life after college wrapped up. They thought more than likely, despite their efforts, would never see one another again. However, using the last pennies of her college savings, Cristen surprised Jon one month later by planning a sneaky trip back to Ireland, showing up at another one of his gigs – leaving him wordless in the middle of a song! Jonathan then flew back over to the USA a couple of months later and stayed for six weeks to see Cristen’s world and meet her friends and family. We took our first vacation together in that time to NYC (hence our wedding location). We feel it’s a magical place and the middle meeting place for the Minnesotan and Dubliner. Cristen applied for her master’s degree and was accepted to Trinity College in Dublin. They have been together ever since!

Jon proposed 3 years after they met with an antique engagement ring from 1915, in the same place where they had their first date in Ireland, Glendalough, a magical place in the Wicklow mountains.

Their wedding was gorgeous. We started the day with Cristen getting ready at the Dream Downtown Hotel, a short walk from The Park. Instead of heading to The Park right then, however, we headed to the other park – Central Park – for the first look and photos. We then jetted over to Brooklyn for some photos along the waterfront and with an old fashioned checkered cab from Film Cars. Then, it was time to head to The Park for the ceremony and reception! We also snuck out to the High Line for some more photos. It was a wonderful, phototastic day and I had SO MUCH FUN with Cristen and Jonathan! Vendor list is below the photos.
