Janelle + Yevgeny ● Brooklyn Wedding Photography
A few weeks ago I photographed Janelle and Yevgeny’s wedding at reBar. It was my first reBar wedding and it was awesome! I love how each wedding is unique, and Janelle and Yevgeny’s was certainly no different. Janelle’s dress was originally her mother’s dress when her mother got married in 1951. Fifty years later, Janelle wore it to her own wedding!
I also met the very talented McKenzie Miller of McKenzie Miller films. She was awesome to work with, and I highly recommend her for anyone looking for a videographer!
Janelle and Yevgeny really wanted photos outside, on the roof and around DUMBO. I LOVED their adventurous spirit – with the windchill it felt like 5 degrees (I checked!)! It was insanely cold and windy, but you’d never be able to tell from these photos.
Janelle and Yevgeny strung up 1,000 paper cranes around reBar (that they folded themselves) as a traditional Japanese practice called sembazuru. The time and energy put into the cranes is to symbolize the patient and trust necessary to sustain a happy marriage. They were a beautiful touch to the wedding!
